And because of the spores’ growth, the scheduled renovation of the structure’s interior cannot be started. That is, until the mold issue is resolved.

Specifically, the said mold infestation was found in the basement of the retired library. The problem is that even the city is unaware of the mold damage and if it is toxic or not, according to City Administrator Neal Niedfeldt. And when asked about the amount needed for mold removal, he refused to theorize until more detail about the problem is obtained.

However, despite the interior problems, renovations on the exterior of the building are to push through as scheduled. And that will already start next work.

=========================

Major construction is set to begin on the exterior of the Carnegie building in Beatrice next week, but work on the interior will not begin until a mold situation is resolved.

Bockmann Inc. Facility and Environmental Solutions has been hired to remove the mold, which is in the basement of the retired library.

City Administrator Neal Niedfeldt said Friday morning the city is currently unaware of the amount of mold damage, or if it’s toxic.

“As far as the inside of the building, we’re still working through mold problems in the basement,” Niedfeldt said. “It’s visible on some of the walls and ceilings so they’re going to determine how that needs to be removed.

“If they determine some of the basement walls or trim has to be removed, that means the actual contractor for the project wouldn’t have to do that work.”

=========================

Basement is one of the most-prone areas to mold growth. The reason is that it is where leaks often are. And if those leaks and the mold infestation is not properly addressed in the soonest possible time, the problem could go beyond the basement and could even pose serious damage to yours and other people’s health.

And so to avoid the worst that mold infestation can bring, immediate remediation must be implemented as soon as it is spotted. Nonetheless, you must make sure that the mold removal must be safe apart from effective. To do that, you will need the help of Molderizer.

Made of 100 percent organic ingredients, Molderizer can kill mold effectively without giving off any risk to health.

Save your home from mold infestation. Get Molderizer and make your mold removal safe.

However, the cause of their deaths could have been determined wrongly according to a report. Instead of pneumonia, anemia and an excess of prescription drugs for Brittany and pneumonia and anemia for her husband, it’s said that they could have died because of toxic mold.

Because of this recent progress to Brittany’s death, her mother, Sharon Murphy filed a suit against the attorneys who represented her in the suit contra the builders of the house where the actress died. The said reason for the lawsuit is that the lawyers never told her about the possible wrongful death of her daughter.

However, sources said that Sharon Murphy did not believe that her daughter died of toxic mold despite the fact that issues about it had come up before. Still, the law firm had a duty to advise or inform Sharon that she maybe having a wrongful death claim, the suit alleges.

========================

The mother of Brittany Murphy has filed a lawsuit against the attorneys that represented her in a suit against the builders of the home where the actress died, claiming the lawyers never told her about a possible wrongful death suit due to mold in the house.

The suit by Sharon Murphy in Los Angeles Superior Court comes nearly two years after the Dec. 20, 2009 death of Brittany Murphy, which was followed by the May 2010 death of Brittany’s husband Simon Monjack. Sharon Murphy apparently did not become convinced that toxic mold was a cause in the death of her daughter and son-in-law until this past summer, when she was in the process of selling the house in the Hollywood Hills.

In fact, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that while the issue of toxic mold had come up previously, Sharon Murphy did not believe at the time her 32-year-old daughter or 39-year-old son-in-law died that mold was a cause of death.

=====================

=======================

Indeed, toxic mold can cause fatal effects to health. In fact, even just ordinary mold can already cause allergies and other health risks. And so, it is crucial that mold growth is prevented. If it’s already too late though and that the spores had already grown, then see to it that you implement an immediate mold remediation process to avoid the worse.

For both effective and safe mold removal though, you must pick Molderizer as your mold remediation solution. As it is made of 100 percent organic ingredients, it is non-toxic which benefits you as well as the environment.

Remove mold without negatively affecting your health and the planet. Choose Molderizer for your mold removal process.

However, it’s not all good in their new place.

Since the second of December, Angela and her three kids have to live in a hotel. That’s because their house in the Navy Complex became unhabitable all thanks, or rather no thanks, to leaks and mold. However, the problems are not recent. Angela had been complaining about the leaks since the day they moved in.

When the Johnsons’ ceiling gave up in July, it took 20 calls for Angela to get it fixed. However, it took news and two letters to the congressman for the mold in her home to be remediated. And she and her husband are not at all happy about it.

Apart from Angela, nine other complaints in the housing complex are being investigated. And when Virginia Representative Scott Rigell known all about it, he was disturbed and stunned according to the report.

======================

Angela Johnson and her three children have been living in a hotel since Dec. 2.

That’s because the private firm that manages her Navy housing complex says her mold-infested home in the Sandpiper Crescent housing area in Virginia Beach is uninhabitable.

It’s not for lack of trying to get it fixed. Johnson had been complaining about water leaking through bathroom exhaust fans upstairs ever since she and Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class (SW) Phillip Johnson and their children moved in 13 months ago.

“I got to the point where I was running out of buckets,” Johnson said.

Ten years after and she and housemate John McDonald suffered illnesses they claimed caused by toxic mold. Earlier this year, their hunch had been confirmed. And so, the two filed a $12 million suit in April naming Palm Desert and Civic Center Barrio Housing Corporation as defendants.

Particularly, mold is said to have caused Kathy and John to suffer from seizures, fever, pains and other mold symptoms. According to them, the growth of mold is caused by the poor drainage for the air conditioning system and other appliances.

The $12 million lawsuit filed by the two is broken down into the following: $5 million for pain and suffering; $5 million for emotional distress; $1 million for property damages and 1.25 for medical bills and lost earnings.

The city of Palm Desert has been named in a $12 million lawsuit over mold discovered in a home built through its affordable housing program.

Palm Desert and its redevelopment agency are among the defendants in a suit filed in April by Kathy Seacrist and John McDonald, who still live in the home in the Desert Rose development where the suit says mold was discovered earlier this year.

Seacrist bought the home in 1997. Ten years later, she and McDonald began to suffer seizures, fever, pain and other symptoms they blame on toxic mold, caused by improper drainage of air conditioning and other appliances.

However, before their taste of luxury, sickness came to them first.

According to Washington Post, about 250 students living in two of St. Mary’s dormitories were sickened by mold after classes started. When inspection was conducted, it was found out that the ventilation systems of the buildings were leaking. Thus, mold grew in and every part of them.

To conduct a mold removal in the affected dormitories, school officials need to relocate the students. But because the nearest hotel is 30-45 minutes drive away from the campus, they got to find an alternative. And thanks to the “Sea Voyager” docked in St. Mary’s River, students will have a nearby place to stay.

=====================

St. Mary’s College of Maryland has come up with an innovative solution for housing students after a mold outbreak forced them to leave their dormitories: About 250 students are now living on a cruise ship docked just off-campus on the St. Mary’s River.

As The Washington Post reported, students housed in two of the college’s dormitories began complaining of sickness soon after classes began. Engineers ultimately discovered the reason why: The buildings’ ventilation systems were leaking water and thus creating mold throughout the dorms.

Officials concluded that students would have to be relocated to hotels until the problem could be resolved. That proved to be a challenge, however, because the closest hotels are located miles from campus, requiring some students to drive 30-45 minutes to get to school. When college officials searched for a closer and safer solution, an alumnus suggested moving the students to the ship, the Sea Voyager.

Apart from the added financial burden, the presence of mold can also cause several health problems. Coughing, difficulty in breathing and allergies are just some of those.
