Amada - please don't go up into your attic armed with bleach - you will not fix the problem. Just Google search for mold + bleach and have a read - it does not kill the mold. Your aim should be to kill it anyway it should be to remove it from your home and sort out your moisture problem in your attic. It's a lot of work, but it needs to be sanded off the studs and beams in order to remove it. It needs to be done under negative pressure (i.e. less pressure than the rest of the home so air flows into the attic and not from the attic into the rest of your home) and the people doing the work need to be wearing respirators (not N95 dust masks from home depot). I would suggest getting it done right by a professional company. I would even talk to your insurance company and tell them you think it was related to the fire you had while back and see if they will cover it.References :

That is caused by the attic not being properly vented and moisture builds up and creates mold. You need air movement with A)rafter vents b) an attic fan or c) gable vents or a combination of several of these.References :

Why is there white mold in our attic? Is it harmful? There is mold in our attic and it is wintertime; it's all over the place. It's white and fuzzy. When I last went up there it was relatively more humid than the rest of the house and smelled rather stuffy, especially compared to how I remember it a few months ago. We have some vents in the attic. We recently had a fire - this is our first winter since the fire. It was only a smoke fire; I don't think the company replaced the insulation up there, but I don't know if they were supposed to. We have house humidity at 40%.
