mildew removal from nylon fabric?

I have some boat sails which are sound , apart from the fact they are covered in mildew spots. The sails are made from nylon or dacron material .what is the best way (if any) to remove the spots without damaging the material? Ive tried scrubbing with soap to no avail.

To kill the mildew spores you will have to use some ammonia and water. I would use a 50/50 mixture in a spray bottle or pump sprayer. Leave the spray on for a few hours and then rinse thoroughly. Rinse out your sprayer and do a 50/50 mixture of bleach and water to get rid of the spots. Once the spots disappear rinse several times.

Two highly recommend solutions professionals and myself swear by to help you with your mold problem.

Try some spot stain remover. I used a product called Dyegone on some mildew stains on a pair of white denim shorts and it worked.References :
