Hip Joint Pain and Athletes

What hip joint pain? This can result from excessive stress on an athletes groin area or hips. Athletes can get hip contusions or hip pointers. I can’t tell you how painful these are. Any one that has had a hip pointer knows what I am talking about. You get a hip pointer when your outside of your hip takes a hit and it jars your inner hip so bad that it bruises which in a short time after will be very painful to walk. Sometimes you get hit so hard that you can’t even walk the next day and a couple days after. Many football and basketball players get these all the time.

Any person playing in any organized sport can get these hip joint pains and when you do you wish you never did trust me. Most of the time you can ice your hip down as quickly as you can and let it sit for a couple hours or even over night if you can sleep through it. Then rub some arthritis cream on the effected area to try and sooth it. Try to get some cream that actually cools but feels like heat. This will help regain motion back in your hip and speed up the healing process. If in a couple days you do not see any positive change you may want to go see a doctor. If it is broken you would not have made it two days without seeing one anyways trust me. You would not be able to sleep. These hip contusions and other hip joint pain are just a normal part of an athletes life and unfortunately it can happen to anyone if they are not careful and watch where they are going.
